A beautiful wine with complex textural characters and added flavours of sweet ripe pear.

Only a handful of Australian vignerons grow roussanne; those that do are passionate about its long, lingering flours and its versatility with food.

Our roussanne vines are over 26 years old, their roots now deep into the bank of granite sand on which they are planted. From this soil the grapes develop their signature minerality and crisp acidity.

As harvest approaches, flavours of sweet ripe pear develop along with its distinctive russet colour. The complex textural characters and added layers of flavour I seek are coaxed out by traditional techniques: a 'wild' ferment in aged barrels and a year of resting on light yeast lees with occasional stirring.
